The Receiving & Processing Attendant fulfills this mission by assisting in the receipt and processing of material donations. This includes contributing to a safe, welcoming environment that serves everyone—participant, volunteer, donor and staff—by creating opportunities for everyone to grow both individually and collectively while generating revenue to support the programs and activities of Salt & Light.

We are looking for someone who is hard working and comfortable being a member of a team. The ideal candidate for this job can work independently, is resourceful, and motivated.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Receive material donations through the drive thru, including providing topnotch customer service
  • Assist in the organization and storage in the Receiving and Processing department
  • Assist in the pricing of items as needed

Position Qualifications

  • Commitment to understanding and supporting Salt & Light’s mission and vision
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds
  • Good work ethic and ability lead others by example

Required Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift training a plus but not required

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • Part Time – 20-25 hours/week
  • Schedule varies.  Monday through Saturday between 9am and 8pm.


Wages & Benefits

  • Starting wages of $10.00 per hour

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment.

Physical Demands

This is a very physical role requiring someone who is capable of working many hours on his or her feet. This would require the ability to move everything from clothing racks to furniture and appliances via carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Oversight (sometimes participation) of loading and unloading of vendor and company vehicles are a necessary function of the role.
